A project by NOR Group and the Biostatistics Group has been awarded with the José Ignacio Ruiz Olabuenaga Research Grant. This grant is an initiative of the Cabinet of Sociological Prospecting of the Basque Government and the Basque Society of Sociology and Political Science. It aims to develop new social research methodologies (especially with the use of Big Data).
The Integral Data (di) project seeks to build a fusion methodology for data of diverse nature and sources to analyze more fully the changes that are occurring in communication habits. For this purpose, sociological methodologies and mathematics will be used. The final result will be a database fed by data from different sources, which will require the design of a concrete procedure, which will represent a step in merging the data that can be used to meet the Basque society.
The work will be carried out over six months and to achieve the objective an interdisciplinary team has been formed, consisting of the mathematics Naroa Burreso and Irantzu Barrio, the researchers on communication Libe Mimenza and Edorta Arana and the sociologist Josu Amezaga, coordinator of the group.
