Communication and collective identity
Collective identities are not disappearing in the era of globalization; they are just being transformed. We have been working how they are built through communication. In this line, our objectives are, firstly, in the identity processes of national minorities in Europe; secondly, in the transnational identities reinforced by the phenomena linked to globalization and communication technologies, which leads us increasingly to investigate in the field of multiculturalism.
In this line, in addition to the theoretical work (more linked to our teaching practice), we are carrying on some case studies, such as sports or cinema as means of reproduction of national identity.
